Meet Heather Kangaloo

I am a licensed mental health counselor with an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling and a B.A. in Sociology. During my schooling I received honor roll nominations. I also have 3 years postgraduate training in Reactive Attachment Disorder with Dr. Bruce Sogolow, Attachment Specialist. Since my education and training I have been working with individuals and families for over a decade. In addition to my professional experience, I have raised 3 children of my own and have an adopted 12yr old. I specialize in R.A.D, ASD, P.D.D, adoptive issues, ADHD, childhood trauma and parenting strategies.

My mission as a therapist is to help children and families create deep nurturing relationships and deal with emotional and behavioral mental health challenges.

My method involves working with the whole family to develop healthy relationships. I begin with the parents developing a solid understanding about their child's mental health conditions, behavioral issues and attachment difficulties. I then bring the child into the sessions with the parents to develop healthy connections.
